His quirky, cute rendition of "If I Fell" seemed to go over well with the crowd, and despite criticism from the judges, Simon ruled it "good enough to stay in another week." Definitely. |

He's the David Cassidy of this competition. Cute, real and like Paula said, his heart connects with the audience, whether live or on TV. He's not just singing to win this contest...he's singing because he loves to sing. That's what sets him apart. GO JASON!

This question has nothing to do with Jason, even though I think he is quite good. Need to know who sang "Come Together" last night.

That would be Carly Smithson, whom Simon raved about but later referred to as "the Irish girl" because he couldn't remember her name. :) Anyway, I thought she was pretty great last night.

Just rewatched Jason Castro, that was outstanding, moving and original...Simon was dead wrong on his critique.

I agree! I think he's getting better and better as the weeks go on. The show would be much more boring without him.

Darla,
Where is the love for Brooke? Although I agree with you that four were fab, you only got 3 out of 4 correct. Slot 4 belongs to Brooke, not Michael. I think you were fooled by his Aussie accent and good looks!

I'll confess: My first version of the story did indeed have Brooke as the fourth fab singer instead of Michael. You got me! :) (Many people have emailed today to take issue with me for this.) But then I thought about which performance I personally liked better, instead of what the judges said, and the scales tipped in Michael's favor. I had a sentence about Brooke's winning ways as well, but the story got too long for the space allotted, so I cut it. Big mistake, obviously!
What I was going to say about her is that I loved that she was barefoot, shaking, crying and really taking in the whole Idol experience. (I think others are too lost in the clouds to appreciate it all.) And her "Let It Be" was very nice. Moving. Fab, even!

I absolutly love Jason! He's got the adorable cuteness factor down. And he is getting better as the weeks go on. I'm totally pulling for him.
Good luck, Jason!!
