So now it's musical chairs (or stage positions). After David A. was deemed safe, Ryan had David C. move from his group on one side of the stage to the trio on the other side (which included our guy Jason). They're all moving on to the next round. Whew!
P.S.: Jason looks especially adorable tonight, doesn't he?

Is it just me, or does Mariah Carey always seem like she has too much backup help when she sings live? I'm not saying she's not a spectacular singer. It just sounds weird live, like there's an echo.

He's quite witty tonight. During viewer-question time, someone asked the judges to name the first records they bought. Randy said Led Zepplin, Beatles, James Brown. Paula recalls the Jackson Five's "I Want You Back," Earth, Wind & Fire and Carole King.
And Simon? "I was 10 years old, and I think it was Paula Abdul's 'Straight Up.'"

I always hate it when they group the singers on two sides of the stage. It seems mean. I guess we're supposed to already suspect that Jason and Carly are in the bottom two, right? But they won't tell us outright. Annoying.
