According to the Associated Press, one of the mainstays of Smallville, that sly imagining of the Superman mythos on the CW, is saying goodbye. Michael Rosenbaum plays Lex Luthor, alternately menacing and, well, confused, on the series (also increasingly megalomaniacal, mostly because of the secrets Clark Kent's keeping from him). Executive producers released a joint statement hinting that the actor could return in Season 8 as a guest star. Season 8 will have two new villains: Doomsday, who killed Superman in a blockbuster move in the DC comic book; and an as-yet-unnamed female villain who'll be attracted to Clark. |

Well I guess it's time to move on as there is nothing else Lex can do as we've witnessed it all. Michael is an incredible actor and I pray he gets picked up for something else quickly or perhaps for a big screen project as I believe he's earned. He is great in comedy too and has shown his versatilty rather well in both. Good luck, Michael and thank you for bringing this character to life in Smallville. No one can play Lex better...ever! Peace Be With You!
