Last night's Lost, "Cabin Fever," proved to be an intriguing episode, made-to-order for mythology-obsessed Losties. We got some answers, and as usual, we got even more questions. We now know that the Island has indeed been calling to John Locke for, oh, his entire life. Or at least, the ageless Richard Alpert and Mittelos Bioscience have been trying all along to recruit John, to test him in hopes of discovering just how "special" he really is. So was the mysterious Matthew Abbadon, who (in the guise of a rehab-hospital orderly) planted the idea of the "walkabout" that brought the paralyzed Locke to Australia, and thence to Oceanic 815. Thus Locke has, apparently, been "chosen" to be the savior of the Island, a role that Ben, also apparently, is ceding to him. We know that Locke and Ben both had mothers named Emily. Could they even be... the same Emily? Hmmmm.... We also know where Claire disappeared to. She's in Jacob's cabin, chillin' with her dear old [dead] dad, the spectral-yet-corporeal Dr. Christian Shephard. Claire is also dead, we are pretty sure. We're thinking that she sustained a subdural hematoma in the New Otherton explosion, and that she died in her sleep by the campfire, which is when Christian showed up and took her away, leaving baby Aaron behind. We know that mercenary Martin Keamy is up to absolutely no good, and that he's the one responsible for the ship's doctor being found dead on the Island beach. Keamy also shot and killed Captain Gault, effectively taking control over the freighter, with the stated intention of "torching the Island." He's taking his orders from a "secondary protocol," a directive given by Charles Widmore, who seems to have been connected with the Dharma Initiative. Meanwhile, pilot Frank Lapidus, flying Keamy & Co. back to the Island against his will, surreptitiously drops a sat-phone to the Lostaways on the beach, presumably so they can track Keamy's whereabouts. Sayid's headed back to the Island on a small "Zodiac" motorized raft, and Desmond's sticking on the freighter in hopes Penny will find him there. Michael's still alive on the boat, but only because Keamy's gun wouldn't fire and kill him. And now that Locke has met Christian, who apparently speaks on Jacob's behalf, we know what Jacob wants Locke and Ben to do: Move the Island.
