Assorted media notes and comments on Lost...

Entertainment Weekly critic-at-large Ken Tucker explains why Lost is just plain old great TV.

EW.com's Doc Jensen on last week's ep, "The Shape of Things to Come."

And TVGuide.com's Trish Wethman weighs in, too.

E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos reviews last week's show and sneak-peeks this week's.

Lostpedia.com has its usual definitive recap of last week's episode.

And J. Wood has a bunch of good questions on Powells.com.

For a mildly spoilerish advance on tonight's episode, "Something Nice Back Home," go to the jump...

Tonight's episode, "Something Nice Back Home," is Jack-centric, and it finds the good doctor collapsing with an apparent attack of appendicitis. Juliet prepares to operate on him, forcing Kate and the other Lostaways to work with her in order to save Jack before he can die of peritonitis.

We'll see, in flash-forwards, more of FutureJack's downward spiral preceding the shocking events of Season 3's finale, "Through the Looking Glass." (Later in S4 we'll also see Christian Shephard's funeral, with all the Oceanic Six in attendance; a press conference; and a party.)

For tonight, ABC says: "Something goes wrong as Sawyer, Claire, Aaron and Miles continue their trek away from Locke's camp and back to the beach." We would hazard a guess that, one way or another, this may not bode too well for Claire. Especially with Martin Keamy and his Smokey-battered mercenaries still running loose in the jungle.

Lostaway couple Bernard (Sam Anderson) and Rose (L. Scott Caldwell) are back in this one, as are helicopter pilot Frank Lapidus (Jeff Fahey), physicist Dan Faraday (Jeremy Davies) and Charlotte Lewis (Rebecca Mader) of the Freighter Four.
