Sunday night's big viewing event is the return of AMC's Mad Men for Season 2 at 9 p.m. No spoilers here, but I was a little underwhelmed by the opening hour. Maybe it's a case of huge expectations after such an amazing first season. Or maybe Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner, a former Sopranos scribe, is adopting his former show's slow-opening approach to new seasons. (What?! Nobody got whacked?) But no worries. A look at the second episode shows the gang back in fine form. |

Sigh -- I'll be watching the finals of The Next Food Network Star during that hour. Though according to Bill Addison's post over on the Eats blog, it looks like I don't have to watch it quite as closely as I previously thought.
