The WB is returning as TheWB.com, the latest experiment in bridging/blurring the chasm between television and the Internet. A beta version of the site is scheduled to be up and running on August 27. While the immediate draw for curious clickers may be the stable of WB shows available -- shows like Veronica Mars, Smallville. One Tree Hill and Everwood -- the WB.com hopes to be more than just an online viewing library. The site has lined up big-name producers like McG and Josh Schwartz to create original content/series. The site is also planning to partner with Facebook to get that whole social-networking buzz thing working. We'll see. E-mail entry: |
